CHG - March 1943 - Tunisia - 35mm

Post by Goethe »

Some photographs I took last weekend at our annual desert battle in Stoddard Valley, CA. Shot on my 1938 Balda Jubilette, 35mm color and mono. Had some focus issues this time around but got some great photos nonetheless.

Cheers to my first post.

There's no doubt that the period look is best obtained with period cameras and film - even Photoshop geniuses can't quite get the authentic look on modern gear. Well done on taking the trouble!

The pictures turned out great. :) You say 35mm film, but what camera are you using?

Kamerad,

Using a 1938 Balda Jubilette 35mm film camera. Picked it up for cheap and it works like a charm, even with subpar modern film.

I think I will post more from this reenactment, if ya'll don't mind seeing some commonwealth and american forces. :)

(too bad the modern camera made it into this shot, probably the best focused of the whole lot)

Hi there, I loved your pictures... and I feel obliged to join in because our club of military history tries to promote something similar over here in Slovakia. We just had our DAK premiere two weeks ago by building and manning a DAK observation point. I was there with my Leica IIIa, and here are som pictures>
