The Ostfront Association

The Ostfront Association was created on the 13th December 2009 to allow like minded groups a forum for organising Eastern front event and battle. We have no affiliations to any re-enactment umbrella organisation and have groups from AFRA, WW2LHA and independents all working together to meet our aims of educating the public, and working together to further research and events into this often forgotten front in re-enactment.

At this time we have over 100 members in our groups and access to 2 halftracks, a T-34, and several soft skin vehicles and bikes. We already have our first association event organised for March and are already planning many more public and private events. Our website will be launching soon. But should anyone wish to contact us please PM myself or Neil

Good news indeed Les. AFRA is pleased to support this development which is another example of people breaking down "traditional divides" to get more out of their chosen pursuit. We (AFRA) will continue to provide support, advice and information as well as whatever other services we are able, to help the Ostfront Association further its aims and acheive its goals.

I hope to see more Soviets joining this list to provide a better balance to the "sides" pretty soon!!!!!

All the best
PD

The Association is made up of groups so individuals cannot join, as it is an association of groups.

Membership is by invite and voted on at an AGM\EGM. There are no rules excluding any branch of the German or Russian armed forces as long as they would not bring the Association into disrepute.

16 April 2010, Operation Winter Storm, Florala, AL

16 April 2010, Operation Winter Storm, Florala, AL

Registration: $20 This includes a Saturday night meal.

Last year's attendance for the Eastern Front event was over 100
reeanctors with an even number of Russians and Germans.

Calling all defenders of the Russian homeland!!! The time to act is
now. We are currently destroying the German
soldiers in Stalingrad and the Russian army is in the process of
completing our encirclement. Once completed the
German army will be crushed and the war will be over.

This is a GREAT location. It is the same location as Operation Cobra.
That was a great event and we are excited to be having an Eastern
Front at the same location.

This a 300-acre site with wooded areas, open fields, groves, roads
and several abandoned buildings. This will be an
authentic WWII tactical event with the battles being fought in an
area that provides the opportunity for extensive
vehicle maneuvering as well as good defensive positions.

We have several vehicles already confirmed:

* A Russian T34 Tank
* A German 251
* A Lend Lease A M5 HST
* A Lend Lease M3 Scout Car
* Several German Kubels
* Possibly a German Sd.Kfz.222 armoured car
* Possibly some lend lease American jeeps
* Several German Motorcycles

It is a great location for vehicles. All Russian, German, Romanian, Finnish, Partisan, etc troops are welcome. This will be a great time so please attend.

If you are interested in attending please contact the 197th Guards with an estimated head count. 197thGuard@Gmail.com

A big thanks to everyone involved in Back to the Ostfront 2013.

Special thanks goes out to our Ostfront association partners The 2nd Guards who against the odds gave us an excellent weekend of battling.

Also big thanks goes out to our guests for the weekend Neil and the lads from Grossdeutschland Aufklärungs

The Ostfront association after a 3yr lay-off and restructure sat down and planned once again an eastern front living history weekend.

Overall the weekend was a huge success with for the first time incorporating The Panzergrenadiers sdkfz 222 to add something different to the weekend, the end result was all parties involved leaving absolutely knackered but happy!

Next years battle weekend planning is now well underway, and we hope to reestablish the eastern front battle weekend as a curtain raiser to the events season.

Future Ostfront Association event updates can be found at http://www.panzergd.co.uk
