Re: Scharfschütze
Posed "look at me" shot. What's more interesting, is the way he wears his trousers.
Re: Scharfschütze
A relaxed and not so serious pose for the professional man with the lens , no intention to "fire".............. "just look through the sight for me".

Re: Scharfschütze
Come on guys who are we to question this picture, ok it might not be a frontline picture maybe taken on a range or at the rear of the lines but hey his pose is good hes holding the weapon correctly for a stable platform whilst sitting, the but is in the shoulder the weapon is cocked ready to fire maybe he loosed one off just after the picture was taken. nice pic, christ how many posed pics I did in the army, well i've lost count. whats wrong with the Hosen? nothing, maybe he just didnt like wearing Gamaschen who doesnt or its a pair of very late war hosen
Re: Scharfschütze
The bottom of his trousers look like they are elasticated!!!! is this possibly a reenactor pic?

Re: Scharfschütze
Mistakes can happen, I have seen reenactor pics in 'official pictoral histories'.

Re: Scharfschütze
I don't think this is a reenactor pic, it's too perfect. Perhaps the blousing is something he picked up when working with other armies or seeing americans in action. It's very practical after all!
Re: Scharfschütze
Is this how the m44 trousers finish, with a draw string?
