How to carry Ski?

Post by Wietmeyer »

Does someone can provide me with detailed text information (this is the most I need) and some photos of how to carry a pair of ski during the tour with rucksack and full "field" equipment?

I'm going to use my ski during the coming winter tour into Carpathian Mountains with Geb.Jag.rgt.98 in December.

Danke im voraus!

Gruess Di' Bergkamerad Franz!

Vielen Dank fuer die Antwort!!!!

I've checked the manual and found it very useful. But I didn't find there information about the way how to caryy the ski like this:

There is TRAIL SKI command in that manual but it's unreal to trail ski when you climb uphill. So is there any other ways to carry ski except that on the photo?

Griass Di God, Kamerad Wietmeyer.
There is a good way to carry skis in high mountain areas.
On both sides of the rucksack there are devices to attach skis with straps.
Normally a leather patch with two vertical slots for the strap, two on either side, above and below.
Inbetween is the position of the binding.
Tie a ski on each side.
Tip of the ski points upwards.
Then fix the points with a separate strap like an "A".
Everything's fine

Sorry I don't have any photographs of it.
I hope this helps you along
