Amazing film. So different from what I was thought. It shows that even in 1942 the German army was not able to make an educational movie that could provide what was needed. I conclude that a lot of complicated constructions etc. are presented that looks OK but no effort is made to the design features that make a snow cave the best place to be when it is cold. First of all you need a pit where the cold can be kept. Physics is interesting. If you make a pit the cold will concentrate there. Result: you get warmer. And the fact that all these snow constructions are damp and will drip is not covered at all. The battle against getting wet is an important one. Moisture shows no mercy. And it is interesting to see designs that work on paper and not in real life when you get to an area where it is very cold and you can expect no help and nowhere to hide if you make a mistake
