Imagine building that in the UK, I can see it now - the neighbour:

a. Mr Smith has got some rusty scaffolding and wheels in his garden..
b. Mr Smith looks like he is building a trailer for his Red Ford Fiesta...
c. No, Mr Smith is building a mobile car cleaning unit...
d. No, Mr Smith is building a gun.....
e. Hello, is that the Doctors, good, my Neighbour Mr Smith has gone mental...
f. Hello, is that the Police, good, my Neighbour Mr Smith has gone mental...
g. Mr Smith seems to have white vans and blue lights queuing up in his driveway...
h. Mr Smith is being excorted away by the police and his gun is being loaded onto a lorry....

I dont like the Pak 36 in re-enactment for few reason. It was an early war weapon which was out dated pretty fast and majority of the re-enactment groups are late war, so Pak36 doesnt really fit in. It did have some improvements made during the war (like the shaped charge grenade), but not everyone got those. It is easy to handle and quite light to move around, fits in relatively small space (easy to make?), so maybe thats the reason it is so popular in re-enactment society?

True, it was not very powerful against medium tanks and was quickly phased out in favour of better guns, but I recall seeing it still being used in original wartime pics, some even dated 1944, an AT gun is an AT gun after all
It is a good support gun and easy to manoever

Several of these obsolete guns migth have been issued to reinforce the atlantic wall defences
It was also used in warsaw uprising against polish positions
