Finnish militaryshop Varusteleka sells also these repro jump boots. Though price is quite high but so is quality as well! Both models:

and

Btw. You should check other items this shop is selling. Lots of great stuff! I can recommend!

You want good accurate footwear? or throw good money after bad?

First pattern side lace, SM Wholesale, but these are not wothout issues, namely a wide ankle, having said that a good cobbler will sort it our, or Jacub's(Joky) boots, but I think these are limited sizes, because of the availability of the soles. Those ones that the link pertains to above are not good, compare them to some pics of Fallschirmjager wearing them, there is not visible stiching on the sole.

Type 2, Jacubs are the only game in town, they are well made and will last. The Sturm ones are a mixed bag, mine have lasted me, but some other people in my unit they fell apart, and really need constant minding.

So if you just want to displays, get sturm, if you want to do private battles events and backwoods living get Jacubs. I should know I think I have tried every combination of FJ footwear there is. Ive spent the money so others can benefit from experience. my tuppence worth

They are sturm boots, same boots being sold by every other dealer but nearly twice the price but at the same poor quality.

Jacub = JOKY ?

Is this the guy ?
viewtopic.php?f=24&t=13984&start=0

If so.. yes.. i have looked at these, and wanted them badly, they where so beautiful :P but since it costs 80% of the money i have left every month i picked the cheaper ones, thinking that boots for > £100 would be ok. Yeah, its not the first time i have bought wrong, i must have spent > £500 in the lake by now :(

btw.. i forgot to thank you all for feedback, better late than never :) * cheers *

btw 2 .. can i prevent something, taking the boots to a shoemaker when i get them, hear his 2c and if he need to do something ?

I read about the " hidden but missing stitching " problem - an issue ?
Seems like £255 is not worth it :(

Thats only on low boots. The construction of Bergschuhe and fallschirmjager type 2 boots is not the same.

I got my fallschirmjäger type 2 boots from R.A.U yesterday. I have treated them with snow-seal and they are ready to use. Counting from today, lets see how long they will last :)

How is SMW type 2 boots compared to sturm & jacub ?

get them boots polished !!!

should be no white stitching visible , nor that orange colour thing , what ever its called, outer sole .

use black dye on the out sole thing and stack loads of polish on the boot.

Yes, i know... one thing at a time

1. do they fit ?
2. snowseal or equal
3. test-walk ( yeah, i tested them today, 30 min walk in -25c )
4. maybe more snowseal or equal
5. polish

The Sturm boots 1st model are cr*p:

a new guy in our outfit bought them from ZIB and used them at his first event: we went to the bank of the river, climbed a few rocks, went in the mud and back...

a few hours later his new boots were totaly ruined! The sole let go...

he immediately got in contact with ZIB and they sorted it out... now he has SMW boots like he should have
