Have you heard back from JOKY about this problem?

Can other owners of JOKY boots chime in on this potential issue? Are your boots stitched & pegged? Or just pegged? Perhaps erikbozwo2 just got two pairs of lemons?

It's a bit odd that JOKY hasn't been on the forum since this issue came up.

I have 3 pairs of these kind of lowboots at my house right now, and they all have the same construction. They do differ a bit in leather colour.

I've sent Joky a personal message, wich he DID read, but he did not reply to.

Kind Regards,

Erik

PS, these boots are better then sturm/miltec in any bit... but the guy should really sew the soles of his boots!

I don't know... They have a complete different contstruction, but i don't know if the seam in the sole of the Gebirgsjeagerboot has stitching in it.. The lowboots don't have that.

The soles are attached in a different manner than with lowboots. So no "visible stitching" in the sole is a good thing. I believe the top soles are hand-welted on, with lower layers pegged, as per the originals.

No visible stitching is a good thing, only if there IS stitching. The lowboots have the cut for the invisible stitching, but NO stitching.

That's really weird. HG Berger has the hidden stitching in the cut. I'll take a look at my JOKY Mountainboots tonight.

Some pics, these boots have been worn to 3 normal events. They are dark because of grease, not age. As you can see there is no stitching, and the nails are not sufficient. Sorry for the bad pics with my phone.

I have succeeded in pre-treating these boots at the heel. This is the hardest part to fix if broken. I've attatched the heel with nails starting from the inside of the shoe, into the heel. With the soles not being stitched its more probably you are going to lose it. But it can be fixed if it does! But it just should not happen, because the soles are supposed to be stitched, and the seam is there. Mr joky is making us think the soles are stitched. At least, at the 5 pairs I have examined, none have stitching. They are not from one batch.

I am not saying these boots are rubbish, but a stitched sole is something you'd expect if you'd pay this amount of money. The rest of the boot is quality, bit the soles can give terror!

Kind Regards,

Erik
