I just recieved a nice, good quality 3rd pattern knochensack from ebay deutschland, and it fits quite well, but the length is insane! It comes over my knees, halfway down to my ankles. Now I know that I am not the tallest person in the world (165cm), is this normal or is the smock just too long?
This is the smock:

I am used to field division jackets, so it's quite a difference!

No it's not normal.Sheikh Al Stranghi wrote: I am not the tallest person in the world (165cm), is this normal
Unless you live in one of these countries;
North Korea 165,60
India 165,00
If you live here it makes you larger than normal;
Vietnam 164,10
Philippines 164,00
Mexico 163,00
Indonesia 163,00
Cambodia 162,50
Any where else and you are a little on the short side. In the Netherlands, a nation of giants if we believe the figures, for example the average for a male 18 to 30 is 184,80cm.
In the United Kingdom its 177,00 and Belgium 176,90cm
data taken between 2006 and 2008

How about that for a quote out of context?

Re: Splinter B ball gown
I would say the smock is a bit long. If I remember correctly, there was 3 sizes of smock issued. There's pics of Fallschirm wearing "too big" Knochensack and some wearing what appears well fitting Knochensack, so how they were issued I am not sure. I was told that new fallschirm were sent into a hanger to be greeted by a pile of smocks and told, "pick one". I don't know how true this is, but it does seem plausible to me based on such a variety of fitments of the pictures I've seen.
