This chap does:

http://cgi.ebay.com/AH6041B-German-Para ... 230f60126a

http://cgi.ebay.com/AH6041A-German-Para ... 1e62a26cab

I've had a few off him over the years. Several years back I had one of his "kit form" ones - shell was in a bit of a state corrosion-wise, but nothing that can't be cleaned up..

Anybody know of a supplier of M38 in small sizes (eg 54) for less than £100?

I doubt it, I have a 56 (66 shell) and that's only because it's an original one!

The FJ-Werke 71 shells are apparently not far away. I've got my name down for one, and I took delivery of the rest of the components earlier this week. The liner and straps are a work of art. Fantastic. The construction of the liner put the Asian and Indian crap to shame in a big way. That said, for the money it should!

Graeme,

Thanks for the compliments....Indeed you are correct that the 71's are very close. I just received a sample and they are dead on except that the channel groove in the rim needs to be added and the bolt holes need to be modified slightly. These are easy fixes that should not hold up the production. The first batch will contain 100 pcs with more to follow. I will update my site when I have them in hand.

Best regards and thank you for your patience,

Mike

Several years have passed since the last recommendations. Which FJ helmets are the best now? As I read in the previous posts, some time ago the best choice was Indian helmet + spearhead liner.

Helmets from India are still available in ebay. But I couldn't found any liners produced by Spearhead.
