New "Overlord" Museum, Omaha

Post by Rosselsprung »

Pleasant and unexpected surprise during D Day week in Normandy, the new Overlord museum has a fantastic section on German vehicles, lifesize diorama settings everything you could ask for and more. among the exhibits are a recreation of the famous laneway in Rots with the HJ MG team, , a FAMO, recreation of the falaise gap with wh/ss vehicles in convoy,
a panzer mk4, rare engineer half track, and to crown it a BIG recreation of a base workshops with a panther under repair, with large mobile gantry about to do a turret lift. . mk4 turret alongside, and tools, equipment, all the works on display in a great diorama. One not to miss, and a must for german military enthusiasts.
enjoy!

It is a great addition to the region and a must see for anyone with an interest in the period.
It should do well, it is located at the roundabout at the entrance to the Omaha beach Cemetery. Plenty of passing trade.

Sounds like some of the exhibits are what used to be in the now defunct "August 1944" museum in Falaise?? They had a Famo, Pz IV and a few halftracks...
