Finished Funker Station

Post by mroeding »

At last I have finished all the standard components of a typical Army Radio Station in the field. The following items displayed are:
Communication Station Flags and Sign
Funkeruhr
Torn Fu d2
Stalingrad Map & Fern-Funk-Blink Spruch Forms
Stationtisch and Klappstuhl

The internet was a crucial tool in researching the information need to reproduce these items. From the Bundesarchiv to various web forums, photos to manual scans and reprints without them it would have been next to impossible for me to build these having never touched any originals.

My next projects are the Folding Field Table and Folding Stools (in progress) and the Torn eb Radio (this will be just as challenging as the Torn fu d2).

If any one has questions while trying to build their own pieces I will be happy to help in any way.

Fantastic display! Really gets the feeling that you're ready to start relaying messages and stuff is going to start happening!

...Regarding the folding field table and folding chairs - Do you have the dimensions of the originals? So far I only have a couple of fotos, but lacking the dimensions holds me up from rebuilding them...

The dowels have a 3/16" wide 1/4" groove cut into them the entire length.
