Sorry bee not making myself clear......as usual.I have Gaue and Wehrkreise listings.Precinct numbering is a prob for me ....or do i bluff it :? and use low numbers to be on the safe side(with rural/sparsely populated areas, with fewer precincts)and the higher numbers for towns/cities.....My head is really really sore

it is not clear to me what you are getting at.

the wehrkreise were military areas to recruit and administer, the gaue were political and according to the constituency.

the gaue were subdivided into Kreise, then in Ortsgruppen. The Ortsgruppen were again subdivided into eight Zellen, which were each divided into four to eight Blocks containing ca. 40-60 households.

so what exactly is a precinct in the german terminology?

There is no complete listing that I am aware of - I have a shed load of info in files which I have accumulated. As I said in another post, it is possible to establish precinct numbers for most areas.

Not a problem - locating the precinct numbers isn't that easy as they were all shaken up post war when the Allies took control. I've got the info to hand, so I'm happy to help out.

One big problem I had was getting a black and white photo the right size but have found a little developing and printing shop which have sorted me out nicely. If anyone else is having similar problems then contact "Photographis" at Photographis@btconnect.com or phone them on 01209313120 . If you E-mail them your picture they can size it and print a decent copy for the princely sum of 22p.
