LOUGHBRICKLAND JUNE 2008

KGK WILL BE ATTENDING several events in ireland this year the latest one being the loughbrickland event , we would like to recommend this event to our fellow reenactors and will actively help any one coming from the mainland uk to attend this event . it is a static show which is well attended by the public and hopefully the weather will be good .

Return to the Past

Date: Saturday 21 June - Sunday 22 June 2008

Time: 11.00am - 6.00pm

Location: Ross Memorial Field, Loughbrickland (Off A1 near Banbridge)
Open to: All members of the public
Cost: Adults £5.00 and children £1
Booking: Not required
Parking: Free parking available
Description: The Ulster Military Vehicle Club’s 'Return to the Past' event is a great historical and fun day for all the family to enjoy. This event features the following attractions:

Historical Re-enactments
The Great War Society and Wartime Living History Association will be re-enacting camp and battle scenes from both world wars - American, British and German. Also take the opportunity to learn about living conditions in fields of combat.
World War II Vehicles Display
This display consists of vehicles from the Second World War and post-war period, including tracked and wheeled armour.
Amphibious Vehicle Display
One of the many highlights will be the amphibious vehicles demonstrating its agility in and out of Loughbrickland Lake.
Road Run
The road run featuring American World War II jeeps will take place on dates if weather permits.
Scenarios and militaria traders
How to get to the event's venue:

From the North
- Take the A1 south from Banbridge to Loughbrickland
- Take the left exit at Loughbrickland Lake following the B3 Rathfriland Road
- Follow the B3 Rathfriland Road for about 1/3 mile and event field is on the right

From the South
- Follow the M1 north as far as Newry
- Then take A1 (direction Banbridge) as far as Loughbrickland
- At Loughbrickland, turn right into the B3 Rathfriland Road
- Follow the B3 Rathfriland Road for about 1/3 mile and event field is on the right
