BGS helmet nets - Go or No-No?
Over the past year I have seen a disturbing number of people with BGS helmet nets - these things:
Lets hear your opinion on these... I personally find it unacceptable.

BGS net on a BGS helmet?, that's not wrong.
I get your point though, there is a lot of "that looks ok so it'll do"
It always has been that way and even now if you go to any of the big shows, there will be German re-enactors using Swiss and Swedish uniforms, there'll be yank re-enactors wearing lots of Dutch and French made things, there's even good old Bulldog British tommies who wear Canadian and Indian made equipment, and a lot of it is post war made.

No, this type of helmet net was not used during the war years, the Tarnnetz 42 is a total different model.

There was a discussion about this net on Luftwaffe forum:

Still waiting for a wartime photo of this net from RodShack.

Easy- until someone produces a credible pic of at least a hundred in use at one time, then NO-GO.
Go with the standard, not the exception and definately not the BW!!!!!!!!

Looks like regulation netting to me...look at the hook in the back, that's a standard hook... I think it's just a trimmed normal army net.

Look carefully.... Looks like a wire hook in the back...
