I think at the start of the campaign they did only have standard wool items of uniform, i think they also got captured stocks of british tropical stuff although i could be wrong.[/quote]

As i say have a look in the "Storming Eagles" book page 60, the Fallshy officer in the pic
is wearing a proper LW jacket withn collar insig, what can't speak can't lie ok

The Fj had NO issue tropical kit for Crete, the tunic you refer to in storming eagles is an officer private purchase, custom model tunic, and is a rare one off item and not standard issue. Hence the large amount of captured brit KD worn because the wools are too bloody Hot!!!!!

The devil is in the details, such as context

...And why you see the FJ in Crete wearing jumpsmocks with no trousers underneath and using helmet covers as sun hats :D
Hanging up my Knochensack for now, it's been a good war!

Thanks for the hilarity gents, as for the rest of my Fallshy gear such as smocks boots bandos
etc are being put together as i write, this outfit is just part of it, ie: The Tropical gear!!, i will
unveil the rest of it shortly, as for the helmet it is just a standard Fallshy helmet sprayed
tan????????? :? (see similar below)

peiper,

it would be preferably if you posted your pics in colour to better understand the uniform for the un-educated. There isnt alot of point doing a B&W picture unless its in a period enviroment and not holding the camera yourself :) . Plus i , my personal preference is to see pictures in colour to better judge the uniform. :)

also, try getting a simple tripod or resting the camera on a shelf to get a better picture of yourself (lol me giving camera techniques ? man im such a hypocrite :P )

i will add peiper that appears you have tilted the helmet to the left ( from your POV) so it looks like it sits below the top of your ear :)

can you take a picture of your liner ?
