Where them camouflaged at the frontline or where they camouflaged in the factory like the Zeltbahn? So far I've seen only camouflaged Stafftents.

Best wishes,
Jack.

Hi Jack,
please take a look at this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=53&t=15086
I'd only choose a colour which is historically correct, so
(if I am correct) it's either
tan (various shades) or light grey
I personally would prefer a little darker variation of the tan colour,
or (my favourite) the same colour as this Gebirgstruppenzelt:

Servus Jack und Zeltkameraden,
I think the light olive color is very typical for most German tents and canvas items (Gebirgsjäger Rucksack, etc.) or a natural linen color would be the best choice overall.
Of course the two- or three-tone camo pattern is very nice also, but I'm sure more expensive to have done:
Horrido!

Looks great, nice job. The tent poles look to be Italian. Please advise

Tent poles for that tent are original. They are sectional aluminium 3 for the main uprights, 2 at each corner.

hi jack
sorry to throw a spanner in the works over tent colours, just thought there must have been other colours as the tan would not have been very camouflaged in a lot of europe.
Im waiting on the zelt book coming then maybe that will cast some more light on the subject!!

No it doesn't I'm afraid (I have a copy). I've got a number (now 9) of original staff tents, dated from 1938 through to 1944 and they are all tan (not brown) of varying shades. The earlier ones have the Reichsheer camo scheme on them, but the later ones are a plain tan colour. Some people have alluded to them being made in gray and green, but any evidence to support this isn't forthcoming at present.
