Damaged Cigarette picture albums

I collect Third reich picture albums from cigarette companies and some of them are in a damaged state,
books with damaged spines, pictures missing or stuck together etc. When they come in such a state
the only option is to throw them away...... However, it is difficult to throw away a piece of history, even
if nothing can be done with it, so I am soaking off the pictures, just as a stamp collector soaks stamps
from a letter or parcel.
This is done in warm water, which dissolves the glue. The pictures are then laid flat to dry. Never let the
pictures come in contact with each other or curl up during drying.
It is a lot of work, but allows me to build up some pictures to exchange or fill gaps in other albums.
Cheers, Bill.
