Wpns Man checking in

Post by Wpns Man »

Hello,

I have been an American Civil War living historian since 2008 and have always had an interest in military history in general. As I strive for authenticity in that timeframe and make most of my own uniforms it was refreshing to find like minded people on this site.

I have a military background and have been to Bosnia once during the 90’s and to the Middle East 3 times since. As most of my ancestry is German I have always had a fascination with WWII German uniforms and equipment. Most of my questions here will be focused on separating the wheat from the chaff as to available kit and what is required to “do it right”.

My experience with Civil War reenacting has taught me to research, research and when in doubt research some more and “buy once, cry once” when it comes to buying quality gear but, to be frugal in looking for good deals as opposed to overpriced items from the current “Gucci” vendors.

Anyway, I am glad to be here and hope I don’t ask to many redundant questions.

Hi, don't be afraid to ask what might seem "redundant questions", many are new here and will learn :)

Using the search function can often answer many questions though it can be frustrating to use at times.

I have been wearing out the "Search" function over the last couple of weeks.

On the Civil War forum I frequent, not using the search function and asking redundant questions is verboten and usually results in a terse comment from a moderator. Especially if you ask "who makes the best ........"

Glad to see y'all are a more tolerant lot,
