SS M43 v. Heer M43
From what I could see the only difference between the SS and Heer M43 late war tunic is that the SS is 5 button and the Heer is 6. Does it matter which one you wear? Did both wear both? Or am I completely wrong about there being a difference? Was it just to save production time? Thanks in advance.. My tunic is a 5 button.

It is not unusual to see SS in Heer tunics, they couldn't seem to keep up with demand.
So conversely it is most unusual to see Heer in SS tunics.
I've never seen it in a photo yet.
Officers don't count.

Re: SS M43 v. Heer M43
I was trying to figure out who I wanted to portray and I came across a few websites that just said M43 tunic. Granted that it was either a Heer website or SS website. I was curious as to if it mattered if it was 5 or 6 button tunic to portray either. Thanks for your info.

Additional differences:
SS 2 belt hook holes, Heer 3.
SS Liner reaches to bottom of tunic, Heer not.
SS Collar bigger
SS Belt hook supports are loops, Heer single straps
So yea, choose what you want to portray and pick the right tunic, always best to portray the rule not the exception
