Medics Helmet Decals & Painting

Post by Stuart Humphrey »

I will be changing the way I portray the German soldat this year and have decided on being a Sanni.

I must say the forum here is brilliant with good resource for links to other sites.

However help is still needed please, before I slap white paint and attempt a stencilled red cross on my much beloved Stalhelm, can anyone give me any tips?

Every helmet I have seen on the web is different?

He's all grown up now. And even a little less outspoken. :D

You'd be so proud of him now.

For SS you can:

1. Leave the helmet/cover as is
2. Attach a red cross (no white) to the helmet cover front and back
3. Or paint a white circle with a red cross on but leaving the helmet its normal colour.

Very very very rare to see SS sani's (especially 12th SS) with white helmets. Its more common to see the helmets and covers left as is, or with option 2.

Hope this helps. :)

Hello Disco
You a medic  you know medics are never pictured with a belt full of grenades, gritted teeth  and MP40's going full tilt don't you......just wanted to make sure you know what your getting in to. Mind you after your little escapade last year you know all about on the scene medical help.

It's been along time since I wrote this but here goes.....try Epic Militaria.... There I said it, they have the dark blue piped shoulder boards for Sanni's. See them here: http://www.epicmilitaria.com/section.ph ... 3b4018c56e To be fair there under new management so things might have improved.

Good luck with the new group and new role mate, I look forward to a beer soon.

Well after two ambulances and two shots of morphine I suppose I could have got the crews to take me straight to beltring!

After collecting my sixth Iron Cross and being decorated with oakleaves and swords, five tank destruction badges and the top snipers badge, I felt it only fair to step down from ahniallating the opposition, (although those yanks never do go down do they!) and beome a more placated individual and give aid to fallen comrades!

Thanks for the links, I am now a fully fledged medic and have all the kit, for a wounded nest at least, you'll easy see me I have targets painted all over....

If I see you fallen in your HQ i'll gladly patch you up, before robbing you of your ciggarettes!!!

Look forward to sharing a beer this season, are you attending Horndean?

I'm sure it will be the most furociously defended nest of wounded in the history of nests of wounded. Mind you if you're as enthusiastic as a medic as you were as a grenadier I guess we can expect some live amputations on the field. Just remember if I go down wounded and the first thing I see is you and a red cross just pass me a loaded P38.

Not going to Horndean but will be at Renishaw Hall, if I don't see you there it will be the bar at Beltring. Mines a pint

Good luck with your chosen vocation and to all you potential wounded out there "Be afraid... be very afraid.
