If you followed your method Neil, they'd crumble in your wallet. Bryn dyes them and then (wait for it) IRONS THEM!

I just wish he had worked a minute windhund in there on a letter or something or even his name just to say - "I did this" or so that they couldn't be usurped. You watch - next year EVERYONE will be sporting Gucci award documents. With the exact stamps and signatures.

I did something similar to photocopies of German currency. Yes I did iron them too, stops them falling apart.

The font you need is DIN1451. I've never seen it available on the net for free, but some of the better font sites have it for sale, usually for about US$35-40. There is a font available for free called "Wehrmacht", which is reasonably close to the DIN1451 typeface.

Having said that, 3 of my original pioneer explosives cases are marked up using Arial - the match is too close to not be the same typeface.

I can't remember where I found it now - have a scout around some of the US suppliers of repro documents websites, as I'm pretty sure that is where I found it.

Completely irrelevant, but the typeface used on British road signs (strangely enough called 'traffic') was developed from the German DIN1451 in the 1950s

DIN is a standardising system developed by the Germans in the 1930s - if you look at the front of German documents and books, you'll usually see the papersize printed in the lower left hand corner - DIN A4, DIN A5, DIN A6 and DIN C5 were the most commonly used. The DIN systems crept into most facets of German life one way or another (almost a precursor to BS numbers).
