Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
I have had a lot of requests for police precinct numbers from people doing their soldbuch. Rather than keep them all to PM as some have been duplicates, can I ask that they are posted here so everyone can refer to them. I don't have a complete list, but I can do all of Austria and most of Germany. These can be fairly straightforward, or they can be a bit of an audit - if they get too complicated, you might have to revise your details a little.
A Wehrnummer number has 5 elements to it:
1. the name of the Wehrbezirkskommando - for this I need the Wehrkreis in which you were theoretically recruited
2. The last 2 digits of your theoretical date of Birth
3. The number of the military registration police precinct - for this I need the town in which you wish to have been living in whilst recruited, and the nearest major town/city within about 50km - I suggest using Google maps (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl) to research this.
4. Serial number of the Wehrstammrollenblatt - pick a number between 1 and 500
5. Line number on the Wehrstammrollenblatt - pick a number between 1 and 10
Eg.: mine is Wien II/12/7/124/10 - 2nd recruiting office of Vienna, born in 1912, registering in Vienna precinct 7, Wehrstammrollenblatt sheet 124, line 10.
If you want to do your own Wehrnummer, just give me items 1 and 3. If you want the whole number, give me items 1, 2 and 3, I'll do the rest.
Dave
PS - don't ask for the lists, there are hundreds of pages in files and I'm not pulling them all apart!!

Frankenthal (Pfalz) was subordinate precinct number 4 from Polizeipräsidium Mannheim (medium sized).

Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
Thanks! Much appreciated.
So if I read this correctly, Frankenthal was a subordinate precinct number 4 from Polizeipräsidium Mannheim. And Mannheim itself was also divided, hence the Mannheim I/13/4/280/5?
Thanks, Jeff

Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
It wasn't divided, there were simply two Wehrbezirkskommando (Berlin had 10) because of the outlying area it covered. There was also one in Worms and Wiesbaden.Goffredo wrote:Thanks! Much appreciated.

That was a fairly easy one! Schwerin was subordinate precinct number 3 from Polizeipräsidium Lübeck (small sized).

Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
Hi
Could you tell me, how many military registration police precincts were in Kolberg (Wehrkrise II)
Could you tell me, how many military registration police precincts were in Kolberg (Wehrkrise II)
Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
Kolberg was a subordinate police precinct of Berlin (I think number 112) and was a Wehrbezirkskommando in it's own right.

Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
So the correct Wehrnummer for Landser born in 1922 from Kolberg could be: Kolberg 22/112/4/7
Re: Precinct numbers for Wehrnummer in soldbücher
That would be correct, yes. The last 2 numbers are purely fictional.
