event post code data base

Post by paul das reich »

stigroadie, fantastic idea of "whats on",with more and more events and more groups working with one another(quite rightly so) could i ask if it would be possible for an "event post code" data base be set up on here as a sticky as loads of guys are always asking me for post codes to events,it may sound daft but if you have a verified post code to an event, all you would have to do is look it up on here and plum it into the sat nav and bobs your uncle.

just an idea mate.

best regards:

paul.

Can I suggest you visit here? http://www.afra.org.uk/Locations_list.aspx And if you haev a location then submit it to us.... we are building just such a database and if you look through it - You will find the most comprehensive details included - Especially fully scaleable and interactive google maps!!!!!!
Look at the Hop Farm for example - http://www.afra.org.uk/locations_view.a ... ationid=13
Or the Kent County Showground (Detling) http://www.afra.org.uk/locations_view.a ... ationid=13

Tell me a better place to find the gigs?

I always get the info from th AFRA site, links direct to a route planner, saves a lot of mucking about.

Cheers for that Wullie - And if you have any locations you woudl like adding then PM me as much detail as possible and I'll add them..... (I know it kinda defeats the object for you but will remain on file and help others)

Did you know members can log in and add their own? We are building a 24/7 reach it anywhere resource here. With Moby phones having Web n Walk etc. then it really makes sense......

Is the reach it here thing only for re-enactment do's? I can see the need for that, but how about small museums and other places worth a visit?

It wasn't until you had the idea and PD pointed out that the basics were in place on AFRAs website.
