German Cross in Gold Holders Vol. 3.

The third Volume in Mark Yerger's much praised series detailing Holders of the German Cross in Gold amongest the SS and police has just been published , the above link will bring you to a preview of the book.

Mark has told me that his 4th Volume is ready to go to the printers and should follow number three quite quickly - much quicker than the time interval between Vol 2 and Vol 3.

Photographs and detailed biographical notes of each holder - Volume three deals with the Regiment and Division Nordland..

The standard of research and work will no doubt reflect that of the previous two Volumes.

Just recieved Volume III of this series today - standard of content and production confirm what one would expect of both Mark Yerger's research and Rodger Benders quality of production.
This volume deals with holders from Nordland - the next volume will detail holders from the Totenkopf.

Ther format is similar to that which mark has used to date - a high standard of research using both primary and secondary sources , input from veterans , and the coloboration and help from a number of recognised experts to produce 36 detailed and fully illustrated biographies of those awarded the German Cross in Gold - including their SS service numbers , ranks and awards.
Details are also given on Combat Clasp holders in Gold and Roll of Honour Clasp Holders.

An extremely useful and readable book - Benders production standard is high throughout - quality gloss paper , excellent clarity in terms of photographic reproduction - binding is tight and well done nothing cheap or second rate.

I must have been "on the ball" very early - mine is 21/300 in the limited number of signed editions - a nice extra.

In terms of reference material this series is second to none.

Quick scan of the index.
