This is a small event at Waltham abbey, and as it's name suggests is open to all reenactment groups from any timeframe. I think there is a first world war group, a british ww2 group, some medievalists and for all I know a bunch of pirates and cavemen too.
It's not a big show - but I did it 2 or 3 years ago with Les Hearn and we had a hoot.
If anyone wants to come along they are very welcome. My little unit will be doing the same grubby infantry look as at Renishaw, based around a falaise pocket scenario where the 272nd division fought alongside the 2 SS. It has a lot of scope for any waifs and strays that want to come along for a fun couple of days
Send me a PM if you're interested.
Royal Gunpowder Mills Multi-Period Event 5-6 july
Re: Royal Gunpowder Mills Multi-Period Event 5-6 july
here are a few pics. We had a great time We managed to field 7 lads in the end ... including Ray from Der Fuhrer, Jock and 'liebstandarte' from Frundsberg. A really small show, but enjoyable nonetheless!

Re: Royal Gunpowder Mills Multi-Period Event 5-6 july
just forgot to big-up 'Battle for Europe' http://www.battle4europe.co.uk
They were there in force! Our little desperate rag band group of stragglers fought to the last bullet! And in the case of Dave Farmer our honourary CO the last bullet but one.
We managed an impromptu battle and there are few groups out there that would have had the enthusiasm and gumption to get it all working. Battle for Europe quietly yet enthusiastically puts reenactment where it should be ... realistic but fun. I cannot sing their praises enough!!!!
Thanks for the Sten (you know who you are if you are reading this) ... omg it had no trigger guard and a special way of firing off an entire mag whether your finger was on the trigger or not. But hey, it sounded and looked cool
But our little group made firm friends faster and new friends quicker and you just cannot ask more from a weekend than that.
Other than something very dirty of course. hehe
Thanks to all involved.
Alex.
