I'm not 100% about those tins Mario- I have heard from several sources they are post war fantasy pieces. They should be marked "atebrin" after the specific drug, not a loose term like malariatabletten. Still, a cool little item for your tropical brotbeutel!

Malaria pills or atebrin and various vitamins were definitely part of day to day life in the Panzerarmee Afrika. To the extent where daily "pill parades" were conducted to ensure the men took their various vitamins (such as "B") and other anti- type drugs. I have in my collection a pack of vials of vitamin B"" 1941 dated and marked tropenpackung.

Also, check the Merkblatt specifically for malaria and ruhr (dysentry) in tropical areas below- these were designed as a glue-in for the back of the Afrikaners soldbuch. No true Afrikaner reenactor should be without these!

cheers

Steve

So, Stefan... Where does one get hold of this "Malaria - Merkblatt"?

A fine question Max- I got these as one offs from eBay some time ago- I looked into my history and cannot find the seller- its been too long. However, I might just have to scan them for the rest of our guys. Consider it on the list.
