Re: Another wanker having his say
the fact people - including some so called historians - don't actually know their history - is no reason not to reenact some of the finest formations of this or any war. All armies are fighting for political ends and on behalf of political masters - wether they want to do so - or wether they agree w...

Re: Another wanker having his say
Having said that - I have no objection to HJ and BDM uniforms - and would hope that most don't. and they are also political uniforms - although ones that folks had little choice about wearing. And although folks like to pretend its not the same thing - the scouts both here and in the US were just as...

Re: Another wanker having his say
Algemain uniforms are not worn in the feild - so they are completely out of place at most reenactments. Do people do a proper German homefront parade wearing them ? no you just get promenaders giving out handy newspaper headlines. Would I be "offended" by a proper German homefront parade w...

Re: Another wanker having his say
Most German reenactors draw the line at the algameine uniform - as it is a purely political uniform and not a military one. So there really is no nead to wear it. (and its generally only worn by fuckwit promenaders) While those who portray the combat troops of the Waffen SS shouldent have to constan...

Re: Another wanker having his say
For many, the line is crossed when a re-enactor chooses to portray the SS. This is the point at which they have chosen to represent willing Nazi Party members: fanatical National Socialists willing to die for their cause, and the men who committed the majority of German wartime atrocities. By takin...

over wraps / shirt - either - depends on the wether Most normandy shots show the wrap worn.
awards - some wore on the leather - but not common - mostly left on the wrap.
Metal buttons shown in all the pics I just checked.

Re: Help with Camo
Good advice from Olly, Panzer Wittman, grenmartens, and valid point form dixiedrummer = although i think it is maybe over done for the Division as a whole - while most folks reenact the parts of the division that had the highest issue of cammo - rather than various supporting units that recieved less...
