scattered is certainly true - I'm in the south but mainly reenact British (std Brit soldier almost as rare as Finns!)

agree about the belt - I used leather stain to colour it! I bought one of his early caps and ditched it. I got two from a Finnish company that is now out of business (again I think from a film set surplus) and a decent cap from a Finn who heads up 5th Division. I note Hiki seems to have a more appro...

I'm in the south but reenact with Yorkshire/ Lancashire folk. Victory we will be doing a machine gun section again (4 Vickers) with two live firers for the battlefield. However I'm happy to change into Finnish kit for the evening!

I am still interested but currently am committed to FIRE44 reenacting various British units (mostly the machine gun Bns as we have a Vickers but will be doing a Scottish regiment event at YWE - should have a Bren gun carrier and maybe a Cromwell if things turn out right) What UK shows were folk thin...

Look good (I have two from Finland which I presume were produced for a film) - I believe the summer tunic etc originates from Hiki? Seem similar

I was contacted at the beginning of the year about a new Finnish group - the moderator is one of them. Quick question - sub machine guns like Brit sten gun were good up to 50 yards but not much more (and that was fine for their intended use) - The Suomi uses 9 mm ammo too (am I correct??) but there are claims for improved range (well beyond what a Thompson or Sten would do) and accuracy - how true ar...

Tim Glad you found the forum and sorry to give you the bad news at Victory show- you will see on the Finnish web site the caps they sell which differs to Hikis. Had a look their jacket/breeches and cap - all look great but I noted the same buttons that Hiki uses also turning up - are these the same (cap excluded)?
