Yep just got one today plus some matt black for the primer and nitromors paint stripper to take the paint of the helmet! I just wanted to put on decals because i dont think you would find an early war apple green helmet without em, its like having a m42 late war helmet with double decals it just wouldnt be right. I tryed to remove some of the paint but it just ruined it basically, so i slapped another coat onto it and my dad tells me to let it dry then use wet emery paper to smooth it out. i dont have a spray gun and i dont want to take the liner out as its hell to get those damn rivets back in plus if i did...

Thanks for the reply! i just find it helps to understand about wars when you know how they were fought and what with. Plus my textbook said they fought a modern war with modern tanks and weaponry and tbh i didnt think that was completely true as i suspected it was a mix of ww1 style tanks and light ...

Could the m40 be used with apple green paint? i mean if they had loads of the stuff they would probably use existing stocks of paint rather than throw it out?

I saw the link to ima's set on AHF although they said the material was pretty thin and the service wasnt great, but i may have to try them as theyre the only ones to offer a full set and at a decent price!

Seems to be surrounded with some sort of lightish colour piping, is the tab elongated? id seen those crossed tools badge before but i thought it was a fantasy item as id never seen it before.

Well ive emailed soldat.fhq about getting a pioneer trade badge and i think i might just go for an A-Frame and those grenades although i will wait till i get that book before i blow any large amount of money, learnt my lesson at the start of reenactment, jumping into buying things is just a bad idea...
