Is all your repro stuff Asian Helmets?
They wont burn, you could probably trade them in for £200 against a new Toyota.

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

Would you say though that an original M-35 shell (whatever size) is different from the remakes (the shape)?

Its just, when I see a lot of 'new reenactment helmets' (Asian shells) they all look a little odd...

I know that they are expensive... No doubting that.

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

Hi, the only difference between an M-40 shell and a M-35 shell is that the M-35 has a riveted air hole. The M-40 has a embossed air vent. A M-42, has embossed air vent, and flared edges. The M-45, has flared edges and no air holes.

Hence the above shell is a M-35!

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

Hi! M-36? I thought that was a fallschirmjager shell... Or the code given to the Bulgarian Combat Helmet M-36. Is there an M-36 German Combat Helmet Shell? First I have heard, and I have been a collector for some time now. I only thought that there was M-35, M-40, M-42, and the controversial M-45. B...

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

@Peiper... a question on the shell.. Is it a little out of shape? I mean the collar rim looks very short, it doesn't strike me as being a good shell shape/remake... Here is one that was recently for sale on german-helmets.com to compare... A M-35 shell.. http://www.german-helmets.com/2011%20UPDATES/...

Re: Show off your reenactment helmets!

Hey guys! thanks for the feedback..

I cant seem to find the thuringen militaria reproduction stuff...

What about decent original shells? I want to get a few, where is the best priced place to pick them up? I suppose semi relics could be restored.

Thanks in advance..

erikbozwo2 wrote:Jonny, there is a Checoslovakian guy on the Ciney fair that sells them for about 25 euro's. But if you'd really want to get your hands on a nice liner, google Vit Zemanek. He has the perfect ones!
I will check them out!

Thanks!

erikbozwo2 they are real crackers! What liner is in these? Where could I get one? There is too much reproduction rubbish out there that looks nothing like the real ones.

Thanks in advance

By far the best on here this year, eye for detail, scenario, impression, and forethought... One thing I notice always is your NCOs and junior officer are a good age, and suits the role, most groups have a fat guy in his 50s  People may spend a fortune on their impression, but sometimes it all l...

Hope you get rid of it all, doing a clear out myself lately, just no need for it all.
I have been successful in getting rid of most of my stuff luckily.
