Re: Ral paint numbers for dark green, red brown and dark yel
Good article here http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=780827&page=3 RAL shades varied throughout the war. Paint was matched by eye, not by computer. Batches made in paint factories were limited to what was available. Some colours weather and fade faster than others. Bottom li...

Re: SS Auschwitz trial to go ahead
I find it sad that they are going to try one of the former camp guards who has been helpfull to researchers etc.. and also admits openly that they were wrong, cant remember his name but he was in charge of the foreign currency at the camp, and features on the bbc series on the camp. It's Oskar Groe...

Re: Re-enactment German field rations
Some pics of some of my personal effects that i have managed to get together over the years from different sources, cheers Would you like a period Scho Ka Kola tim instead of that modern one? This Mauxion one is probably rarer than the Wehrmacht Packung ones and very collectable: http://i657.photob...

I am all in favour of people being called to account whatever their age, but your do have to wonder why this wasn't done in the 70 years between now and the crime.

Re: bovington tank museum
Been to this a few times. There are a LOT of punters and a LOT of stalls selling Christmas tat but all in all a fun gig. Bovington do their usual trick of demanding the moon and offering feck-all in return, but with a few HiVis jacketed exceptions the ground staff are generally OK. Worth it if you l...

Re: Scho-ka-kola - Taking authenticity to the next level.
One of my civilian ones has the remnants of the tin seal and it is indeed a form of paper. It can surely be reproduced with a bit of photoshop magic and a laserjet.

Re: use of bell tents ?
Plenty of pics of HJ using bell tents for their camps, but I can't see many soldiers choosing to cart around a heavy canvas tent, captured or otherwise - especially as the whole point of the Zeltbahn was not to have heavy tentage as part of a unit's equipment.

Re: Opinions about the color of a M40 tunic?
Not being funny but your source of information for M40 tunics was to post a link from ATF showing M42 and M43 tunics, my sources of information are many No, the picture link was to M42 and M43s in various shades, showing that tunics made in that era (of whatever cut, including an M40) could be very...
