Re: face blackening
There are a few photos of 12the SS grenadiers with what could possibly be blackened faces. Here's one:

Re: SS troops in full camo
Here you go: OK, so having read all the comments on the use of Pea/Dot/Erbsenmuster 43/44 I decided to do a completely unscientific survey of all the Dot 44 photos i could find, to see if we can see some sort of trend. the books consulted were the following: Osprey Warrior series 2 - waffen SS Ospre...

Re: SS troops in full camo
A look at photos of late war SS troops will show that this was reasonably common. Of course the helmet covers will never match the uniforms as those would not be in dot 44 pattern. Of course other combinations did occur and were equally common...smocks with dot 44 pants, Dot 44 jackets with field gr...

Re: Green drillich tunics
As far as i know, the waffen SS were rarely issued drillich tunics. There are a few photos but most show privately acquired officer's or NCO tunics. I'd like to confirm as well if this is true.

Re: handschar reenactment
I wonder if their group is still around. They commissioned a reproduction Panzer 4 here in the Philippines (saw it standing in a machine shop a few years ago) but sadly it disappeared before i was able to ask about it. They certainly take their reenacting seriously.

Re: Late war diorama
Excellent work! I wish i could paint figures like you do. When i finally got together my full size german kit i was totally puzzled. All i knew was how to glue them on. My field gear positioning has improved a lot since then.
