Re: Levisham
Big pats on backs all round for everyone who turned out for levisham. it was a great effort despite the foul weather on sunday. Thor (the prototype armoured armoured train) was built by members of das reich and a damn fine job they did - rotating turret, blank firing mgs and a blank firing main weap...

Re: SS crusher caps
Janke for me too. Yes they are expensive but they are great caps.
And the piping became white for all branches as john has said after about 3 months of the war. So Christmas/new year 1939 into 1940 not 1942

Re: New Multi-period event, south of England
What a superb show! Where to start? Great venue with 100% interested ans appreciative public - not a 'whats the waffen ss doing here' question in sight. Groups from all areas and periods. 100 plus reenactors being fed some seriously good chow from a real german field kitchen. And to top it off the b...

Re: New plain tree smock
No no no. It is PLANE TREE. It is not to do with style or air travel. 'Plane tree' is a description of various types of trees sharing certain characteristics. Google for a whole lot of tree related info

Re: Oakleafmilitaria.com
Mate I'm just waiting for 'Hitler's testicle' and 'Himmler's moustache' to turn up Snyder's site! And surely for the bargain price of $20000 each! With COA of course from ... Charlie Snyder!

Re: Oakleafmilitaria.com
Oakleaf are a well known trader and have some nice items. If you buy from there it will turn up. However they do have a few items, particularly SS which are questionable. They are also very expensive. As with any seller, try posting a link to whichever item you are interested in on a forum like Wehr...

Re: Help with Camo
A question regarding 'holding onto' older styles of smocks. I'd like to state first this is NOT having a dig at anyone but is an open question. I'm sure buried in a thread somewhere on this forum is a quote from a vet stating that camo smocks were handed back in to the QM at the end of autumn to swa...

Re: Help with Camo
Hi I was member of a tk group for years before joining Das Reich. While there are several smaller books of photos for the division, by far the best photo reference for totenkopf is the totenkopf pictoral history by Charles trang. It can be picked up for 30 odd quid - not cheap but very big and very ...

Re: Original panzer sidecap, GJ ski cap, RAD sidecap
All good advice from the man. You won't find makers marks in them of the kind you get with private purchase visor caps. Most are gov issue. Def check the waf site. Brilliant for any collecting. Also invest in books like Michael beavers 'cloth headgear of the third reich.' Worth spending a bit on boo...

Re: Best Tunic on the mart.. on a budget..
Just invested in a new rau tunic. Not so much 'new stock' but new old stock. It's the same as the very nice quality one I had from him nearly six years ago but was told he'd since moved away from. Now I have a few of Chris (doggreen1) 's items. Peadot - IMHO great for the money. Greatcoat - not too ...
