Re: whats happened to eastern front private events?

If some one wants to organize a private battle 2nd guards would consider attending at our own cost just the same as it has always been for private ba...

Re: SS Panzer berets ???

Hiya, the beret can still be seen in photos of the 9th SS Panzer Division "Hohenstaufen" during forming up and training in 1943. Pics can be seen in the Div history book.

 Very, very bad.

On that note, it is a shame that he has been ripped off by so many people. This is why people should buy the books, read them, do research all the time, ask questions.

Re: Medal identification

It is a Polish made modern fantasy design, the makers name on the reverse appears on a whole range of fantasy badges, the maker did not exist during WW2.

Re: Shoulderboards - extra button required??!

Re the button for the lanyard, these can be found made of horn, pressed paper or even plastic, they could be sewn to the underside of the shoulder strap or directly onto the tunic itself. Ade had in his hands last week a Waffenrock and this had the button in place on the tunic itself. In regards to ...

Re: New Derby Militaria and Re enactors Event

We did go home as we live local, but many stayed in caravans, vans, and cars on the uni car park after going to the pub which was a 10 minute walk away. If you have a metal framed tent like the landrover tents they are ok also. Security was on site all the time day and night.

Re: New Derby Militaria and Re enactors Event

I thought that I would give a little report on this event. We had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. Hopefully our group might have picked up some new members which was the reason for us attending the show. The venue is superb. Light, airy and warm and with good facilities: toilets, showers, a cafe ...

Re: Remembrance Sunday and this week leading up to it.

As long as the scrap yards are accepting scrap metal the bastards will steal more. All scrap yards should be charged with handling stolen goods in the areas of the thefts, then they should have to prove they didn't accept it, this might make them stop accepting such obvious thefts of memorials, and ...
