Re: Folgore para

Ok, Folgore tropical kit. Like you said, HIKI does the right uniform. No issues there. Boots. This is tricky. There are manufacterers out there but the boot has specific dynamics. I will try to post up details later. To do the Folgore in North Africa you will need a helmet. Italian ebay is the best ...

As always Gregg, we love what you guys do over there. Looking excellent. Must agree with you on the 'Look' though. We always get the look of horror when we say, you need to kick that about a bit, get it torn and raggy. I personally took a sander to my Folgore unifomr, along with some real lemon juic...

Re: Why Not DAK?

So far all the answers have been interesting, but the one recurrent theme still emerges, that being the climate/landscape. Now i can see that the lush english countryside can be a deterrent to do battles in, but is it a detterent to reenact in? As Kevin (Schafer) put it, is this down to people wanti...

Re: Why Not DAK?

Ok, Apart from our comrades in the States, most cite the British countryside as a put off. Algeria and tunisia aren't deserts, and most of the battles were confined to the mediterranean coastline, which has grasslands and so on. Vast tracks of desert as a back drop isn't really needed. There are ple...

Why Not DAK?

I wish to pose a question, as its one that i have always wondered about, and the Gebirgsjager thread got me thinking about it more. As the title of the thread says, Why not DAK? As a unit to portray, this is poorly represented in numbers, but is one of the highest profile units in WW2, and can be de...

Re: Gebirgsjäger - "A lttle less Nazi"?

I'll add my piece to this, even though i don't reenact German (Although i do chose to do Mountain troops of an allied nation) Gebirgsjager is attractive. Its been mentioned before, but influences like the Airfix 1/32 scale toy soldiers certainly steered me towards liking German things. The caps look...

Re: Telo Tenda. Do's and Don'ts.

Further to this topic, here is what the date stamp should like like, in its proper WW2 Format. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n160/supermario999/datestamp.jpg Ok, it is usually printed in waterproof black ink, and can be found on the back of the Telo Tenda. Position varies, but usually near one ...

It still has the mackeral pattern, but the colours are brighter. It is constructed the same way, but it ha...

How can you research Italian Camo/Items and Not have heard of Paolo Marzetti!!!!??? That sounds arrogant for me and that´s why I gave my answer to it. Stigroadie don´t project what I am thinking about you onto other people. For me end of this discussion. Best regards, Caen44. Yes, i can see how tha...

Re: Hard to identify italian Zeltbahn.

Stig, thank you for the comment. My imput is just like everyone elses. This subject is such a minefield for people, but we have to look at the overall picture when looking at a subject, and take each comment objectively. As for Paolo, google him. He's there. Caen, its a shame you couldn't have gotte...

Re: Hard to identify italian Zeltbahn.

Most of Paolo's books are in English, and he's been publishing books for the last twenty plus years. If your by passing him in your research, then you can make grave errors. If your research is based solely on what the Germans wore in WW2, then it misses out a huge spectrum on the whole subject. Let...

He deals with the Regio Esercito period and onwards. His collection and knowledge are vast, far more than mos...
