Re: Project Edelweiss 2015 - Official Report

Outstanding report and congratulations to all the Bergkameraden who attended Project Edelweiß 2015. Drei mal Horrido to Heeresbergführer Bruno for organizing such a spectacular and realistic event. Thanks to all for taking such wonderful photographs! I was very sad not to be able to attend this year...

Re: Signal units and staff tents

Grüß Di' Olivierpatrick, Signals units, as well as other units, used a wide variety of tents. Here are was wartime photos of the 'Grosse Nachrichtenzelt' (Large Signals Tent) which is similar to the Staff Tent but with higher walls and more windows: https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/580x660q90/6/grn...

Re: Re-enactment German field rations

Servus syow25, I would suggest the following books if you want to know about German field rations: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51QXkh5v4HL.jpg http://www.amazon.com/Rations-German-Wehrmacht-World-War/dp/0764335200/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423770391&sr=8-1&keywords=German+rations...

Re: Who would use the StG-44?

Servus StG Soldier, Don't know where you're getting your information from, but I think you need to do some more research online and/or purchase some books. Plenty of Heer Infantry, Gebirgsjäger, and Skijäger units that were issue with the weapon. http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/e4/18/24/e4182...

Re: WHO MAKES A GOOD REPRO WINDJACKE?

Servus Jäger Halle und Gebirglers, US Army Shelter Half is the perfect color and material for a GJ Windjacke. I've even seen an original Windjacke made out of a captured US shelter half. http://www.kpemig.de/bilder/produkte/gross/US-Army-WWII-tent-shelter-half-OD_b2.jpg Here's one of my original Win...

Re: SS Gebirgsjager boots

Grüß Di' Gebirglers, I agree with Jäger Halle. All the references that I have on wss Gebirgsjägers, shows them wearing standard issue mountain-ski boots. The photo you posted and the illustration show standard boots. Private-purchased boots can be seen occasionally being worn by officers, NCO's, and...

Re: Heeresbergführer badge

Grüß Di' Jägermeister,

The Edelweiß is perfect. The lettering of "Heeresbergführer" should be black. And the pin on the back is completely wrong.
