PS3 for the win.
Compact, has internet, streaming media, can read USB and play avi/wma/mp3/mp4 etc - has built in editing software for images and photos. Its a great all-rounder. Especially when your away from home.

Re: accident
Its funny the way the dude runs like a girl. I just wonder how you would run in hobnailed boots on a concrete road, when your best mate has just put a whole the size of your fist in his upper leg. The guy is doing fine and will be getting his wound badge I'm Sure. Hold on, Ive seen this guy ...

Re: Blinkered views
Bauer - good post. I never thought you were THAT bad mate. Not really sure how to respond to it in a serious manner - obviously not everyone has blinkered views (hence Stigs witty reply)...but at least 3 of us seem to agree that it's very easy to become consumed by your hobby in both good, an...

Blinkered views
Just been sat reading the forum for abit on a break. Does anyone else think it becomes really easy for us to become blinkered from focusing too much on our hobby - to the detriment of our wider perspective on real life?

Re: whats happened to eastern front private events?
The last good battle I went to was the 'Don' one that you put on a couple of years back - Eastern front and living up to expectation as well. We did another early last year as part of the ill fated 'Ostfront Association' and that's been about it - not heard of anymore since. I think there is alot o...

Re: D-day beaches, the French want to build windmills there!
Well said mate. And even if the turbines were inland ones, why should it be an issue? We arent talking any destruction of historical remains or the landscape - these places were mostly farmland or scrub that was fought on 65+ years ago. Its crazy that ecologically friendly means of energy should be ...

Re: How to deal with the ignorant public.
I was at a railway event, I dare not name it for fear of ridicule. Man with bulldog, cropped mohawk, leather jacket and ring in his nose . I am in German uniform. MAN: "Are you a Nazi"? ME: "No, are you a bull"? End of conversation. I was there - I couldn't stop laughing for twe...

I think these observations are totally out-of-context Paul!!

Re: Double Standards.
Paul your entirely correct that if a group of NSDAP re-enactors was to form, there would be no way of disbanding them. However, events still retain the legal right to book/admit who they want as long as it does not directly conflict with sexual or racial discrimination laws. If said group were going...

Re: Double Standards.
I too like Mark's post about the standards not double standards . But mostly because it leads onto another question - how do we protect re-enactors and the hobby? I'm a firm believer that a line has to be made - however you look at it or bury your head on the issue, there are standards in everything...
