Finnish bicycle (Swedish would be ok too...)

Looking for a Finnish Army issue bicycle

NOT necessarily WW2 dated, as they all comply to roughly the same pattern

Would possibly be interested in a Swedish pattern bike if the Finnish ones prove too hard to source

Re: Kar98 Manufacturer

Quality wise...they all had to meet specific criteria or they'd not pass inspection. (WaffenAmpt stamps are Arms Inspector markings) The rule of thumb for which were better made: pre-war were made with a lot more care and attention to finish, etc., than war-time manufacture...as they had fewer time ...

Re: Huge lot of items (both original and repro) GERMAN

Interested in map case and conpass - will you sell without the manuals ? Interested in some of the manuals - the white "Close Combat" & the 4 blue tactics manuals (all the English translation ones) IF you did feel like splitting the set.... Sorry, only got Close Combat and Der Marschk...

Re: 8cm Mortar carrier set.

You may get a clue from some of the leather straps.

Given the number of them, I'd be surprised if none had any maker marking or other similar stamping embossed somewhere.
(Look close to buckles & strap ends)

Re: Finnish groups in the UK?

No "groups" as such, to the best of my knowledge. Scattered individual re-enactors seems to be the current UK Finnish scene ...on the topic of scattered, WHERE in the UK are you? (If you get a chance fill some info in on your profile) Happy to help where I can with advice on shops/dealers,...

Re: Basic MG42 gunner equipment

By repro belt, do you mean the leather waist belt...or the linked MG ammo belt?

I make leather belts.
I used to supply MG belts too, but not sure about mailing these outside the EU.
(For inert 8mm ammo ask at your local gun club)

Re: Anyone do buckle repairs?

Is this the standard belt buckle, or an officers one? I commonly throw prongs out when I strip them from traditional buckles. My guess is it will be easy enough for someone to make up a set of prongs & retro fit to the buckle. Look at the way the Finnish buckle prongs are made...a flat sheet, ra...

Re: Finnish uniforms

Let me know if you get stuck with the payment transfer...it may be the motivation I need to order a cap for myself if I also haev them send yours to me. Shipping from the UK to the USA for is not that high - it may even work out as the cheaper option for both of us (given their 20 € P&P flat-ra...

Re: Finnish uniforms

I'd love one of the new German made M/36 caps from Varusteleka too, but at 40 € ea. & 20 € P&P they're a little pricey. My plan was to order one with an original breadbag from their re-enactors section, until I corresponded with a representative and found out the breadbags are all 1968 vint...

http://stores.ebay.com/hikishop/WWII-Finnish-/_i.html?_fsub=1718734010 Hi the discussion about Hiki uniforms above are a few years old now. Can anyone comment on the quality of M36 they are currently selling? I'm still waiting on mine. But the straight leg stone grey trousers they sell are decent. ...
