Re: Anything North of the wall?

East Fortune is on May 7th this year

Only found out due to an A4 poster in the local library.
No expense spent....but finally an attempt to publicise the show!

Not sure why it's in May as last years was in June.
Not doing themselves any favours weather wise.

Re: Moutain tent - meanwhile 3 years late........!

I asked them/him middle of this year and they said 'no' unfortunately :-( shame as I'm after one myself! m Strange that they no longer make them, given their three year initial project, plus the fact that they'll now have plans/notes/fittings & the like to make them; seems daft not to make to o...

Re: Kradmantel Problem; Spearhead new production run Krads

Keep mineral oil & petroleum based items away from it - a good sideline in the horse trade is repairing rubber covered reins that have had such products applied - turns the rubber outer to a melted runny/sticky goo consistency. A few automotive places have plain aerosol sprays that are pure sili...

Re: MGC MP40, De ac MP34, MP44, WW1 FLARE PISTOL AND BREN

I was going to start another link, however, I agree with 1st panzer. There are other problems tho, attended a show recently where the section 5 stated that ALL our bf mp.s are illegal, apparently if a new barrel is fitted and the fire more than 3 live rounds they become a section 5. anyone else kno...

Re: The amazing story of Lauri Törni

Define "more popular"? He's very well known in Finland & quite a lot of articles/books are out about his life - just the majority are in Finnish not English. Lack of popularity in the USA is not always a bad thing with the "Hollywood" treatment often falling short of the trut...

Re: MGC MP40, De ac MP34, MP44, WW1 FLARE PISTOL AND BREN

Are these all replicas, or are some de-acts?

(IF the latter then wondering HOW the VCR applies to a de-act?)

What make/model is the flare pistol?

WW1 German G98 bayonet scabbard

Looking to buy a WW1 a metal scabbard for a normal G98 bayonet (the original wider "butcher" type not the late warr thin blade/short blade versions)
Ideally 1915 dated to match the bayonet & G98!

Re: Uniform and Equipment Templates

The leatherwork side of the issue is not as simple as it may seem. Without the CORRECT metal fittings & correct spec. hide, any end results will not be up to the job. ...ask me how I know! (Some metal fittings have taken several decades of searching & still no further forward. Other fittings...

Re: German items for sale massive clear out!

Replied to all pms. Would be easier if I knew how to post pictures on here. Open a free PhotoBucket account. Set up a folder with the name you want to upload the photos to, or just upload them to the main PhotoBucket account folder. THEN - after you have the photos uploaded to PB - add the image li...

Re: Wanted - Total Detail Sd-Kfz 252-253 Early 250 Archive V

If you'd like to point me in the direction of a site that actually has a copy in stock for $60 I'd be most grateful........all that come up in the goggle search I did before writing this post aren't in stock any more although still listed on their sites which is rather misleading not to mention ann...

Re: Wanted - Total Detail Sd-Kfz 252-253 Early 250 Archive V

Interesting looking reference book. I had a quick look on-line on some of the specialist book trade sites that I use & OUCH !! Most of the better sites had it from around £150 up to several £100 higher. Have you not tried a Google search for this? You're either after a used copy that is ultra ch...

Re: Breadbag strap

Thanks for that, I had always wondered but now I've seen the use as emergency y-straps it makes more sense. Yes - that's THE main reason they were issued.... emergency Y-straps OR, the first reply to your question sums up the primary reason: They were made and issued with the bags , so it was possi...
