Re: europa.eu/rapid/press-release_

Thank you for that answer Dave, most illuminating, and as I suspected, shows the current position to be a total mess!! :? :?

Which is presumably why he is after one, to convert to wartime appearance? Easy enough to weld on so the optic block can be attached...

Re: PIP PK PRIVATE TACTICAL BATTLE 16th 17th April 2016

Very sad to see how little interest todays reenactors show in private battles, it was always my favourite type of event but public shows seem to be what people want to do now?

You don't know what you are missing, people!

Good luck Pete, no longer reenacting myself otherwise I'd be up for it!

Just read this, and somewhat taken aback! I remember him from my first days in KP1 many moons ago, very dedicated and cheerful despite his many difficulties. RIP

Re: Eckstein no5 cigarettes label

The only thing you need to watch is sometimes the wartime graphics were a bit fuzzy (hand-drawn characters, letterpress print methods etc) so be careful that modern CAD methods don't make stuff too "perfect"! Look at originals if you can and see if you need to 'soften' your artwork a littl...

Re: Must be genuine, it's got a stamp.

What an odd thing!? Ignoring "DAK 1942" stamp for the minute it does actually seem German, but clearly not a Zeltbahn! A semicircular drawstring and two arm(?) holes.... I await with interest any kind of explanation as to what it is!

Re: Deactivated mg34

There was a Portuguese contract of around 1,000 MG34s with unique transit cases (the ones seen around with Metralhadora M/944 stencilled on the sides) that were supplied early in the war - these all came onto the market in the 1980s onwards. These were manufactured by "dot", but all the Po...
