Good thick material,the dish...

Re: M40/55 Finnish contract stahlhelms from IMA-USA..

Thank you,and thank you for your help! Your post on paints and colors will be helpful in the future when I do field modifications to this helmet. The only thing left to do to this one is paint a white patch on the front, and a red cross because I'm portraying a Sanitätor.

Re: opinions on makers stamps ect.

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q4/Demonskates/IMAG0109-1.jpg I used 1944 militaria's M40-M42 Feldgrau dunkel. It's as you describe, dark grayish green..and it's a matte finish, I went with single decal..they only did double decal for such a short time in 1940 I figured it more probable to receiv...

Re: Bashing on us again

In the U.S. people sometimes get uptight over this stuff. In the state I'm from there is only Grossdeutchland and Totenkopf for axis re-enacting groups. One heer and one SS unit,in the whole state. But if you go south it's far more common. Re-enactment is big down there. I've had mixed reactions fro...

Good grief. Be glad you didn't have that pink primer! The grey paint over it was so thick I had to use a razor to get it off..the primer was a bit easier, for that I used 150 grit sand paper and a mouse sander..stripped and ready for paint. Paint, splitpins decals and liner arrive tommorow. http://i13...

Re: (Heer) Helmet colour scheme and timeline

Hi guys, trying to brush up on paints ..no pun intended.. can someone explain what RAL means or stands for, and,is this a British paint code system,or does this exsist in the U.S. as well? I can just picture Homedepo looking at me like I got four heads..lol.

Re: M40/55 Finnish contract stahlhelms from IMA-USA..

I'll post as I go. Got the stuff coming from 3 places. The M31 liner is from IMA-USA,the split pins and decals from At the front(IMA's split pins have an odd raised rim around the edge and look off so I avoided it) and the paint I ordered from 1944 Militaria.(M40 feld dunkel) This is the part in my ...
