Unit transfers

Post by Oberleutnant Ulrich »

OK, question:

How common were unit transfers before the war started. I'm not just talking about from infantry to infantry. I'm talking about something more precise such as Luftwaffe to Gebirgsjäger.

How plausible does this sound:

Luftwaffe air crew radio operator who served in the Condor legion who transfers to the the Gebirgsjäger Aufklärungs as a radio specialist.

Plausible enough if the guy originally lived in an area where they had snow and he was a demon skier! Don't laugh, serious. An Austrian perhaps for example?
