Re: Free Indian Legion
Back in the late eighties the SBG had one Pakistani member who portrayed a nco of the Indien legion,I made up some recruiting leaflets to get some more members. We did get some enquiries from a few asian lads, but when it came down to it they did not join because their families did not want them to be thought of as 'nazi's'.
The book mentioned looks interesting as it shows a Sikh officer in his new uniform complete with a army officers dagger.

Re: Free Indian Legion
Anyone wishing to do this impression, it should be noted that there were Europeans within the unit.
A number of German NCO´s training Indian recruits and a British translator called Frank Becker.
Cheers, Bill.

Re: Free Indian Legion
I have always wanted to do a impression of this unit. There was non-indian europeans in it aswell so you dont have to be indian to do it.

I would still love to do this impression. the only thing stopping me money right now.
Re: Free Indian Legion
Here are some more photos. If you look closely you can see the free Indian arm patch on the man in the center. As you can see he's no Indian.
