Basic Soviet M1902 Maxim, but with tripod rather than wheeled carriage. See the 1955 Finnish film 'Tuotematon Sotilas' (Unknown Soldier) for full details, there's loads of them in that (as well as a PzIV masquerading as a T-34! How weird is that!)

No, it looked like a PzIV

Seriously, no, it looked more like a WW1 British Vickers than a Maxim. I also have a Finnish Wargames army and I use Vickers HMGs for Maxims in that, as they're the closest match.

Yes Franz. You are absolutely right. Adolf got it on 27.6.1942 from Marshal Mannerheim as a present. Rumor tells that Adolf himself was shooting with that weapon afterwards trying to find the secrets of the gun because it was so famous. Finn SS Batt had several hundreds of those SUOMI MPs on use. When Finns left they gave them to the Estonian volunteers as well as the other machineguns. German troops in Lapland got only 120 Suomis and When they left from Finland they used them in the other fronts.
