what do you think of this repro Patch.

If I remember well, this is the logo of 1st Kompanie of FJR3, not entirely Ramcke Brigade.

I had read somewhere that it has hand-painted on a white piece of cotton, on the field. This makes me think that it would not have likely been made out of felt. I can't remember the source.

Maybe you should have a look at "Fallschirmjager Brigade Ramcke in North Africa" by Edgar Alcidi which has some closeups of this.

The book doesn't say anything about how it was made but I would say your right though hand made.

Funny though this should pop up today. I went to a embroidery shop today to pick up 2 more scorpion patches I ordered but they were closed

hehe Ramcke is a very niche unit and very few groups portray them. Apart from our unit and your group, I'm not aware of any other groups who have them as their primary impression.

Try and make one yourself with a painted version on material/
canvas like how they were "field-made" originally ;-) (see below)
