I have a Dboys K98 springer I'm debating selling in favor of an Ares ppsh41.
These shell ejecting models are just nothing but problems right out of the box. I did do a lot of work on this k98 and got the shells to eject,and the shells to load proper. Pretty much for airsoft,this thing is useless. It is however a sharp looking rifle. I also got some extras for it such as the leather sling(WaA stamped and dated) A leather Rear sight protector,and a Oak A bolt action cover. While working on it I did scratch the right side of the rear sight..fortunately not horribly or deep..the finish and metal parts are painted as it came from the box. I had the intention of aging it for that combat broken in look. Then I even thought of completely stripping the bolt,and custom making a semi auto Gewehr 43 out of this where the K98 and Gewehr are so similar. I'm still undecided. And the lowest I could go for all of it is $290.00 USD plus shipping. That's at cost for everything. Aside from shipping of course.

There's a private supplier in Germany that sells dboys for €150 each or the dboys with real wood stock for €200, if interested I'll put you through.

I got the all wood one..weird wood choice though...it's like teak wood or something bizzare like that.

When done right, a Dboys can look quite nice...

Absoulutely..although,Tbh,id like to make mine should I keep it, into a semi auto gewehr 43 for airsoft. The two are similar,and it's gonna involve some thought and a lot of work. The dboys k98 just isn't skirmishable as it stands. It's an affordable rifle that will give me the chance to try this..would require some routing,a good gear box,some drilling for the battery..it would be quite the project..but I'm sure I could do it. I'm leaning towards this route. I like doing stuff like this,will be interesting at least should I go through with it.

With the amount of alterations you would have to make to the stock, I would just get a block of wood and start from scratch really. The trigger, mag and all is offset in relations to the K-98 really and (really not trying to burst your bubble) but in all honesty you would probably be disappointed witht the end result. There was another person here that made a wood one from scratch, very nice indeed, I'm sure you could make a nice stock but then buying the parts to make it look like a G-43...it might end up being cheaper just to buy one???

if you look here at the comparisons...you'll see that you'll have a H*ll of a time converting the K-98
