I've noticed the same and have also seen original feldbluse/jacke made from US shelter half. The color, weight, and material is almost identical to the standard issue Windjacke. Shelter halfs are on eBay all the time (at least in the US) and are not too pricey.

Company called " Toppots " from the USA - never heard of them , however .....

It LOOKS good , and it's the right colour ....

Seems they do a Khaki version too , and an Italian camo (!!!?) pattern . They also do an early Windbluse .

I am currently having a Windjacke made by a tailor , from original US shelter halves. However , I have dyed a Hiki Windjacke and allowed it to fade - next to it ( right ) is a mint original . What do you think ? It will be redundant soon , but I am wearing it in two weeks on PE VI in the absence of the tailor made one .

I should have said - it's made from original US shelter halves ( closest thing to the correct colour and EXACTLY the same material ) - nice and stiff and windproof, just like my original. ... :D

Does anybody know the Gebirgsjaeger WIndjacke from rbnr? I cant find it in the shop of their website, but find it by google: "rbnr militaria wind jacket"
Any good? For 239 Euros I would expect something really good! I am happy to spend the money, if its a good one. Any opinions? I am after a Windjacke for heavy duty, not for looking smart.

Personally , although the colour is good ( on the sage green variety anyway ) , I thought it looked rather flimsy . It didn't help that the bloke modelling it was also two sizes too big for it.

There appear to be no stirrups or buttons to take shoulder boards either .

It's been 9 years since the last post on this thread. Curious if there have been any new offerings for the Windjacke?

E-mailed Dennis at Lost Battalions. They no longer offer it.
