German sniper badge was it worn ?

Doubtfull the badge was worn in combat for reasons quoted above, i have never
seen it worn on original pics/photos, maybe just for parade uniforms ??
I did read a quote from a ref book that it was the sights that were to be
discarded, apparantly prior to capture they were ordered to remove sights which
were then smashed/hidden.

if it was issued it was worn on the right cuff, it was called the scharfschutzenabzeichen ,it was only introduced on 20th august 1944 it superseded a sniper commendation certificate, none have ever been photographed in wear
the issue was as follows
no of kills award
10, iron cross 2nd class plus mention in div orders plus 7 days leave
20 sniper badge 3rd class
30 iron cross 1st class mention in corp orders plus 14 days leave
40 sniper badge 2nd class
50 honour roll clasp mention in army orders 21 days leave
60 sniper badge 1st class
75 german cross in gold
100 knights cross of the iron cross
