Can M-42 helmet be used for late Afrika event; Sep 42-May 43

Post by gebirgs soldat »

Question says it all... I have an M-42 helmet that I use for loaner gear. I am considering painting it in a sand/DAK/mix color for the desert battles we have twice a year.

Would that be correct.. that is using an M-42 rather than an M-35 or M-40?

Thanks, WALT

I think it is better to use m35 and m40 helmets.
There are not that many M42 helmets arrived in Africa, many have been intercepted
But it may well be that some were delivered along with some new troops but that did not happen as often at the end... Ral 8000 would be a good start.

Do you guys actually reenact Egypt/ Libya/ Cyrenaica period or just Tunisia? Just a thought and a hunch!
